  1. Luke 20 reads like a good novel, where the underdog is constantly threatened by the bully. It's cool to see how Jesus is able to turn around questions that are meant to trap him, and leave his tormentors puzzled, not knowing what hit them. I wonder whether some of the meaning is lost in the translation as well. The text states that the people were amazed at Jesus' teaching. If one would have been there, and seen Jesus in action, one might say that amazement is an understatement. It sounds like the religious leaders were continually left scratching their heads. Great story!

  2. Luke 17
Since I haven’t been on here in a while I have a lot to say so bare with me. In Luke chapter 17 when Jesus cleansed the ten men but only one came back made me think. The fact that only one came back to praise God is the same in our daily life. There are probably only about one out of ten people who are Christians. That is why we are the people that have the great task in telling others about what we believe so we can change those stats. Another thing that is said is “Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.” v.33 This is a good lesson for us. We need to be willing to give up things for God and leave everything and follow him where ever he takes you.
    Luke 18
I didn’t really understand what was being said in verses 1-8. Another thing, why does Jesus always refer to himself in third person? God tells us that we must be like little children before him or we wont enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Is that scary or what. All the things we have to do for God is really worth it in the end so all the earthy things wont matter as much because we will be sitting up in Heaven with God. That is why we must always make sure that he is first in your life.
    Luke 19
Parable of the Ten Minas. God gives us our gifts for a reason they aren’t supposed to be hidden away. If we use are gifts for what God wants God will multiply what we have. I also don’t really get what Jesus is trying to say to the Pharisees in v.39-44. Another thing that I have noticed lately is that the Bible is really like one big story. I know that’s might not be news but it’s just like reading any other book just this one is more interesting.
    Luke 20
The Parable of the Tenants at the first sounded very familiar then I realized that it had been a story on Odyssey. That is just another great thing about it. It had a Bible story in it and I didn’t even realize. I know more then I think. Also I’m not sure if I just didn’t catch it or if it didn’t say. Why is Jesus called the Son of David?
Answers to some of my questions would be great and I hope that I didn’t put anyone to sleep with my thoughts. I have a lot.

  3. Luke22...what a scarry and I'm sure very confusing time for the deciples...their friend and leader taken into custody. v.36, Jesus instructs them to buy a sword if they didnt have one, when they said they had 2 Jesus says thats enough and then later in the garden when one of them uses the sword to defend Jesus...He rebukes him and says, enough of that!

  4. This morning, I was reading Luke 22. It almost made me cry because this is the beginning of Jesus' crucifixion. I'm guessing some of you have seen The Passion, and maybe can guess what I'm talking about. I have only seen blurred glimpses of it and it was still enough. It was so powerful and it reminded me of how much Jesus went through. And I will never be able to fully understand how much LOVE JESUS HAS FOR ME AND YOU. It takes my breath away.

  5. Luke 21 has been stuck in my mind. Especially verses 8-11. I have just been wondering exactly what that should mean to us now and how I hope none of us will be lead astray. It has given me a new sense of how fragile life is here and how much we need every thread of hope and faith. Jesus will come back for us!

  6. Everytime I read about jesus being mocked and beaten and being put on the cross is truley sad. I cant imangine having been at the crucifixion and watching my king die on the cross for me and my sins, when he was truley innnocent. But It amazes me of how much Love jesus has for me and everyone else in the world that he would go through all this horrible stuff. Something as insignificant as human beings and jesus would die for our sins. Amazing.

  7. I have to admit that this has been my hardest week to keep up, and I had to catch up on Sunday. It seemed my mind was pulled in very many different directions. I do want to comment on 2 verses:
Ps.18:19 - "He rescued me because HE DELIGHTS IN ME." I read somewhere that He has my picture on His fridge. No matter what anyone here on earth may think of me, or what I think of myself, GOD DELIGHTS IN ME!
Ps.18:30 - "...All the Lord's promises prove true." The Bible is filled to the brim with promises, and they ALL PROVE TRUE. Is this our experience and do we truly believe this in our lives?
    To all a good week.

  8. One thing I found interesting is that Psalms 18 is in the bible two times. It is writen again in 2 Samuel 22. Isn't amazing it must have been very important to God. He wanted it in his book twice. "As for God his way is perfect." 2 Samuel 22:31a
