This morning it hit me how time flies. I looked up the passages for this week, and to do this weekly is a reminder of exactly where we're at in the year, and WE'RE IN APRIL ALREADY! I want to encourage us to keep up our readings and comments. I know I don't comment every week and there've been weeks I've struggled to keep up in my readings with the busyness of life. However, let's persevere. There's blessings in doing this and being part of this small group! Wannetta
I just want to thank everybody who prayed for me over the last week... Thank you wannetta and don and Kaitlyn for your prayers..they are greatlly apperciated... Thank You! Kris
Yes, Wannetta we are in April and it is wonderful! I just want to add an encouragement to all that as the world around us changes into better weather and all we want to do it run outside, we personally know the Creator of such things. I found this last week as I was in Europe, that it was hard to find quiet moments to read and get closer to God but that I appreciated all those people around me who were also wanting quiet moments. Let us enjoy spring, and find the times to thank God for this beautiful life He has blessed us with. *Tiff
The book of Mark paints a good picture of how people can get so caught up in one insignificant thing that they lose sight of something else that is really important. The Pharisees and teachers of law were so intent on keeping the law, that they missed out on the fact that a man was in their midst that could do miracles. They rather chose to focus on ensuring that the Sabbath was kept. Don
The Parable of the Mustard Seed (Mark 4:30-32) is one of Jesus's parables that really spoke to me. It reminded me that planting one seed or telling one friend about Christ, can help the kingdom of God explode in size. Just one seed, that's all it can take. Wow.
Something stood out for me in today's reading in Psalms. In our busyness of life, God says "Be still and know that I am God" (Ps.46:10).
I'm not a theologian or anything like that, however I read something in a book (by Sheila Walsh) today that struck me. I've never thought of this correlation in the past.....the Fall occured because of a tree. Eve picked the fruit off of a tree. And Jesus died on a "tree", nailed to beams that were once a tree. Praise the Lord for Easter and the "tree". Wannetta
