2.Thess.3 was a good reminder for me that no matter where i am or what i do I'm an example to someone. Paul invited the church to look at him and follow his example...i certainly don't feel prepared to say that of myself but that doesnt change the fact that people are watching and i need to be aware of that. Good point Mom, I noticed that today as I was driving away from the school. I had my music turned up loud and I'm proud of speakers and subs in the back but I realized very quickly that the music I was playing wasn't the example I wanted to be. I flipped the song and found one that although still had a nice bass line, it had a good message. *Tiff
On Tuesday we read II Thess. 3 and one verse jumped out at me...v. 3 "But the Lord is faithful; he will make you strong and guard you from the evil one." I think it jumped out because just last week we read a very similar verse in I Thess. 5:24, "God, who calls you, is faithul; he will do this." GOD IS FAITHFUL! I seek to hold on to these verses...in the uncertainties of what the future might hold, or where the world is going, God will be faithful as He promised. Wannetta P.S. Hebrews 10:23 also talks about God's faithfulness.
This week as I was reading in Phil. 2, I noted that Epaphroditis is commended by Paul as being an encourager to both Paul and the Phillipine church. One of the comments written in my Bible, states that Epaphroditis is only mentioned in this place in the entire Bible. He was an encourager to Paul and seemingly worked quietly behind the scenes. He was one who didn't need to be recognized publicly for his important contribution to Paul's work. Don
I caught up! With my new job and all, I'd fallen behind, but this weekend I've managed to catch up. I'm thankful and again, blessed by the joy found in reading God's Word.
