  1. I like what Jesus did in his interaction with the Saducees - he not only answered their stated question, he took it a step further and spoke to the heart of their beliefs. It appears to me that their question was meant to make Jesus look foolish for believing in a ressurection. Jesus informed them that in heaven, people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; Jesus then pointed out to them that in fact there is a ressurection, and he used scripture to do so. He read between the lines and gave them more food for thought even though they came forward looking for ways to make his belief system look foolish.

  2. Sometimes it scares me to think what might be in store for me as a christian....i have to remember that Christ is in control, i can't save myself from anything but He can keep me to the end.

  3. Just some verses that I have highlighted in my Bible from this week's readings...

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name." Psalm 91:14

"For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." Matthew 23:12

Also... thanks for praying for me and I will also continue to pray for you! I feel like God still has wonderful plans for this group! Keep it up and keep posting because I enjoy what you guys have to say.

  4. I have a blessing I would like to share. This weekend was full of rain as you may have noticed but with most of the guest list praying for no rain, God opened a window so that on Saturday there was no rain just long enough for a wedding ceremony to be held outdoors and the pictures to be taken. While we ate the meal afterwards it poured. God is great and we thanked Him for giving this to us so that the wedding of Marcus Dueck and Paige Thomson would go as planned. Thank you Lord for caring about the little things we want in life and for blessing this couple as they start their new life together.

  5. I wondered about what happened in Matt 27...Pilate knows that Jesus is innocent and would prefer to release him but can't due to the mob in front of him, but then he washes his hands saying that he is not taking responsibility for Jesus' crucifiction...so why did he order Jesus flogged and then handed off...seems to me if i had wanted to remove myself from the situation i would'nt have ordered the flogging either......

  6. Those are some of the same questions I had, Annie. I had to keep reminding myself that this was God's plan, and nothing could get in the way. Everytime I read this story I am so thankful...SO THANKFUL...that he would DIE on the cross for our sins! Thank you Jesus!

  7. At the end of Matt 28, Jesus reveals himself to his disciples after his resurrection. Verse 17 says however that some still doubted. What did they doubt? That Jesus rose from the dead? That he didn't die in the first place? Whatever it was, Jesus didn't scold them. It's meaningful to me to see that the disciples actually had doubts even though they were first hand witnesses of Christ. When I have doubts from time to time, this brings me comfort. Jesus doesn't condemn us for this.
