John 3:30..He must become greater and greater and i must become less and less.

When reading John 5, specifically the account about the man that Jesus heals, I am perplexed and troubled by the man's actions after he is healed. The account describes the man going back to the Jews and telling them that it was Jesus who healed him on the Sabbath. How could someone who has received one of the most amazing gifts imaginable (physical healing from disease) turn on the one who healed him? I remain confused as to his actions.
